Heritage Harbour condo owners now have option to upgrade

Some Heritage Harbour residents said their refusal to sign a contract with a Maryland government agency - an agreement that would have forced them to retrofit their condos for wheelchairs - ended up being a better decision than any legal advice they had received.
The move saved them thousands of dollars and many sleepless nights, they said.
Late last month, state officials drafted and signed a new agreement that would not require the residents to get involved in any new construction projects or make them responsible for shelling out more money to satisfy Americans with Disabilities Act requirements.
