And wreaths of evergreen foliage, holly berries, boxwood and red ribbons now also adorn the windows and entrance doors of the State House.
It's a 25-year-old tradition in Annapolis, said Joyce Kersh, a member of the Wardour Garden Club and a coordinator of the annual event. Wardour Garden Club is one of 16 local garden clubs that participated in the decorating activity by making the wreaths.
Ms. Kersh said Ginny Turner, who was once president of the club, developed the concept.
