Flood fails to dampen church's Christmas spiritPublished 12/24/08

J. Henson - The CapitalTuesday night a burst pipe in the steeple in St. Anne's Church sent water cascading down through the narthex and into the the sanctuary. Volunteers laid out wet carpeting to dry, and despite the water damage, the church will be open for business in time for Christmas Eve services. Instead, he was helping oversee an all-hands-on-deck cleanup effort at the landmark St. Anne's Parish in Annapolis, which was flooded last night. Mr. Lee and others worked through the night, drying out rugs, removing wet kneelers and mopping the floors. At about 9 a.m., they got the all-clear to host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services for thousands of worshippers. "We will have all of our services," pronounced a relieved Rev.
