Instead, he was helping oversee an all-hands-on-deck cleanup effort at the landmark St. Anne's Parish in Annapolis, which was flooded last night.
Mr. Lee and others worked through the night, drying out rugs, removing wet kneelers and mopping the floors. At about 9 a.m., they got the all-clear to host Christmas Eve and Christmas Day services for thousands of worshippers.
"We will have all of our services," pronounced a relieved Rev. Gid Montjoy, the priest in charge of the Episcopal church.
