Riva Trace Baptist Church in Davidsonville recently hosted 40 homeless men and women for the entire week of Christmas. The church provided a hot breakfast, a bagged lunch, and a hot dinner to the 27 men and 13 women. They also gave their guests hot showers, laundry service, activities, and fellowship.
The church got involved in the shelter program through the Arundel House of Hope's winter shelter program about seven years ago. In all, 40 churches provide weekly shelter during the cold winter months, taking turns to house the less fortunate.
