Paul W. Gillespie - The CapitalEliza Toomey transplants a broccoli plant seedling outside her home in the Murray Hill neighborhood of Annapolis. She's trying to persuade neighbors to join a community farming project, where they'd give up part of their lawns for Ms. Toomey to grow vegetables for all the participants. She calls it Murray Hill Row-by-Row. Eliza Toomey wants to be a farmer. She wants to grow healthy, local, organic vegetables for her community. The trouble is, her Annapolis townhome has a small yard. So she's come up with an interesting idea to help make her dream come true. Ms. Toomey, a teacher, is launching Murray Hill Row-by-Row, a program in which neighbors give up part of their yards and pay a small fee. Ms. Toomey in turn will grow vegetables on plots throughout the neighborhood and share the bounty with participants. It's like a community-supported agriculture program where participants pay a weekly fee to a full-fledged farmer. Ms....
