For most of the over 300 people gathered on the open, grassy lawn in front of the Herald Harbor Volunteer Fire Department, last week's concert was a chance to see old friends or meet new community members.

For others, some visiting from Arden-on-the-Severn across the river, it was the Tom Lepson Band that lured them out. "It's to mingle, to hang out with everybody, to watch all the kids have fun," said Jeremy Snowden, who moved to the community when he was 13 and came back as an adult. "We're all buddies here." The music mingled with children's laughter and the smell of grilling...
