Incapable of watching life from the sidelines, he took off after graduating from Annapolis High School in 2004, skipped the typical college route and began traveling instead. Over five years he lived in Canada and London, trekked Greece and Nepal, and gathered friends from all walks of life as he circumnavigated the globe.
But tragedy struck the 23-year-old adventurer last week. While hiking in southern Croatia on Friday, he fell 120 feet. He was found dead Sunday morning.
"The only thing that could beat Brandon was a mountain," said Mike Vincent, one...

We'll never forget your smile... - 2009-08-06 16:33:56
Brandon Weill was'nt just another story in the Capital Newspaper to me and many of his friends back home in Annapolis. Hearing the news that he was gone and that I would never have the chance to see him again or laugh with him until my stomach hurt was gut wrenching. When your our age the thought that you might not see one of your friends again crosses your mind rarely but when something like this happens all you can do is realize nothing is forever so make everything worth while with the time you do have. I think Brandon did that every day of his life.. I dont think I met one person that hated or even disliked him. He was just the sweetest greatest guy that could make a friend no matter where he went and that could cheer you up no matter how down you were. We're gonna miss you Brandon you may not be with us anymore but you will never be forgotten.
RIP Sweet Brandon

Sorry to see you go when you were n - 2009-08-06 14:04:00
I feel like I'm hearing about the true story behind "Into the Wild" all over again. A soul like Brandon's is precious and rare. It is a terrible shame we lost him so young as he could have touched and inspired so many more lives to come with his unstoppable drive to truly live life to the fullest. My empathy goes out to his family and friends and may they all spread his adventurous spirit for life (and the many more possibilities it contains than we often realize) so that he can live on in our hearts.
