I'm from Washington state, and don't mean to step in the middle of a fight, but here's an important clarification. Blogging does not equal "fights on the computer." A growing number of city council bloggers don't permit comments; they just use the blog to share info like what could have happened here. I personally do allow comments on my city council blog, but I don't allow anonymous comments. That keeps the morons away, at least in my town so far. I think the Aldermen and Mayor should have the ability to have their own city funded webpages. It's ridiculous to not provide one for those who request one.
