Bowling, who is openly gay, is alleging his civil rights were violated when an anonymous flier was distributed that depicted him as a sexual predator and a threat to men and young boys. The flier also had racial overtones.

"Keep us from Sin and Sexual Assault. Bowling will be [sic danger to us all and our children - He is WHITE & GAY = SIN," the flier read, in part. It also encouraged voters to support incumbent...

Despicable - 2009-11-06 19:20:50

I called Classie on Wednesday and she claimed to have not seen the flier. I asked for a comment on it after I emailed it to her and she said she had no comment.

Of course, after the election results are finalized, she issues a weak "statement".

Classie's statement was very clear when she knew of the flier's existence and chose to say nothing.

The leadership of the Dems and Repubs should have demanded that ALL of their candidates renounce the flier. Does anyone remember the uproar when Thomann compared Obama to Hitler?

has higher political ambition, no way he touches this. Hold your breath waiting for the State to do anything.

Are You Kidding Me!!!!!! - 2009-11-06 15:58:50

Classie Hoyle trying to avoid "unsavory politics????!! How could you not be sickened and outraged by that letter. By doing nothing she is condoning it, actions definetly speak louder then words. Good for Scott for persuing this issue. He has a tremendous and well earned backing behind him who will support him in every sense of the word to expose the letter writer and the parties behind it. I don't think SHAME is part of Hoyles vocabulary or moral fiber.
Way to go Dave Miller for getting the truth out there!!!!!

Classie Hoyle is an outrage - 2009-11-06 15:21:36

Classie Hoyle did nothing to avoid unsavory politics. Last Friday afternoon her campaign manager (Ms. Mitchell) called me, (Dave Miller, Scott's campaign treasurer) with unsubstantiated allegations of sign destruction and threats purpotedly on behalf of the black community. (She said Scott's campaign was removing the signs, the black community was outraged, (as though she could speak for the entire community,) and that if the signs were not replaced there was going to be a bonfire. I assume meaning that Scott's signs would be burned.) We worked with the police department and published pleas for any information to substantiate the charges, and condemned the removal of signs as childish and a distraction from the issues of the campaign. We received no substantiation of any sort.

In that same conversation, I told Ms. Mitchell that we had rumors of a very ugly, homophobic flyer being circulated. I told her that Ms. Hoyle needed to immediately condemn this activity.

Rather than condemn the activity, Ms. Hoyle continued to represent to people throughout the weekend that her signs were being stolen, but was unwilling or unable to cite any locations or witnesses, nor any actionable evidence.

On Sunday afternoon, a honorable resident that had received the flyer shared her copy with Scott. This is a copy that was scanned by others. Its circulation started the moral outrage, and attempts by the media to obtain Ms. Hoyle's condemnation. Josh Cohen and Carl Snowden were both honorable enough to promptly take a stand against the flyer. Hoyle has remained mum for over a week now.

Now that she has gathered he ill-gotten gains, her unscrupulous win of the election, she is preparing to grandstand on this issue. She needs to resign her position and remove herself from politics immediately.

She should be ashamed of herself. I hope God has mercy on her for her disgusting behavior.
