City police raid comes up empty

After receiving a tip, Annapolis police raided a home in the Bywater neighborhood last night looking for a man wanted on attempted murder charges, but came up empty.

It was "apparently bad information, or he escaped before we could set up a perimeter," said Capt. Scott Williams, head of operations for the city Police Department.

Police later identified the wanted man as Terrence Ricardo Hicks, 30, who was charged in August with attempted first-degree murder in a shooting in Robinwood. He is also wanted on drug charges, according to a police report.
