Like a lot of kids his age, 10-year-old Jonathan Clingenpeel said he fell into a habit of eating too many snacks and watching a lot of television.

BOTTOM: Dan Masterson started each of the five running heats at the last “Mighty Milers” rally on Monday. He and Neal Hinkle, volunteers from the Annapolis Striders running club, ran the starting line and timing for the “Mighty Milers” track meet for the past two years.
But that was before he joined the "Mighty Milers."
Now, he's lost weight and feels better. The fifth-grader at Hillsmere Elementary even credits his improved grades in spelling to his new fitness level.
"I did it for fun - and for my health," he said, before dashing off with his "best bud," Sam Berkheimer, to line up for the final relay race at a session-ending rally on Monday at the Annapolis High School track.
