Annapolis resident Scott Bowling has struggled with Crohn’s disease since he was a child. He received a 2009 Great Comebacks Award from the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America and the United Ostomy Association of America. The Annapolis mortgage banker, who recently lost his bid for a seat on the City Council, was diagnosed with Crohn's disease as a child. That led to 17 surgeries - including the removal of his colon and other organs - throughout his youth. He also underwent treatment for thyroid cancer this year. But because he never let his medical conditions get in the way of his career or other goals, he was given the 2009 Great Comebacks Award for the East Region from the Crohn's and Colitis...
