Doug Smith, co-chairman of the group pushing for a city manager position, which Cohen opposed, will be the city’s chief administrative officer. He will be paid $145,000.
In this year’s election, Smith and Bill Kardash’s group, Annapolitans for a...

She graduated HLS, she wants to work for a city Government. She will only be making 135k., less than a HLS graduate's starting salary in most DC firms. what happened, what is motivating her ?

Doug Smith + Karen Hardwick - 2009-12-04 22:33:28
What s this unholy alliance up to? One thing is for sure: their plans will be revealed to us only when it is too late for us citizens to do anything about it, and when The Capitol and Eric and Paul can only bemoan the loss of what Annapolis used to be.
Do we really need a super attorney from HH to fix the permit process? Does Cohen have an ulterior motive in hiring her? Does she know any of his relatives? Has she sever represented any of the developer groups that contributed to his campaign?
Why is she the new legal representative for Annapolis?
Or aren't we supposed to care, we sheeple?

Here is a good bio:
http://dcwatch.com/ncrc/000515.htm
She was a director of the National Capital Revitalization Corporation, which was created to "infuse economic activity into [DC] and create jobs for District residents, through real estate development, business finance and business development."
I have no idea what the track record of the NCRC aside from the fact that DC is still a war zone.
Why was she picked? Does she live in Annapolis? Why not? All good questions for the enterprising reporters of TEH CAPLITOL!

Hardwick was with Hogan and Hartson until 2004, now appears to be a solo. Very discreet in advertising. That's good, I like discreet.

I have determined via Martindale Hubbell that there are 2 Hardwicks listed in DC, and neither one is named Karen.
