Around Annapolis: Peaches and more at church peach festival

Growing up in western Maryland, I will forever associate the month of August with the arrival of the peach harvest. Every year, I gladly make the trek back home to get my half-bushel of tree-ripened juicy peaches from the orchards around Thurmont. Most end up in fresh peach pies for family and friends to enjoy.

Thankfully, Annapolitans have a local alternative to my peach pilgrimage: Eastport United Methodist Church's annual peach festival.
