Nancy Long, co-president of the Central Maryland Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, is getting set for the NOCC's sixth annual "Break the Silence" 5K Run/3K Walk Sept. 12 at Quiet Waters Park to raise funds and awareness about ovarian cancer.
By the time her ovarian cancer was diagnosed in 2004, it had progressed to a late stage.
Six years later, Nancy considers herself among the fortunate survivors. With chemotherapy a thing of the past, she spends time educating women about this "silent killer" as co-president of the Central Maryland Chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.
The NOCC calls September "Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month" and is sponsoring its sixth annual...
