Lecture to focus on 'What are old people for?'Published 03/25/07
Despite our best efforts, aging is inevitable-if we're fortunate. But Dr. William Thomas, an internationally known geriatrician, challenges us to welcome it and see it for its possibilities. A Harvard-trained physician, Dr. Thomas is coming to Anne Arundel Community College in Arnold tomorrow to discuss his views on aging and plans to revolutionize long-term care in the United States. "Old age represents a stunning success on both a personal and a cultural level," said Dr. Thomas, "and yet we treat it as if it was some kind of failure."
