High school athletes are learning what boxer Laila Ali, NBA Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler and five-time Olympic gold medalist Apolo Anton Ohno, all featured athletes on ABC's TV show "Dancing With The Stars," already know.
Broadneck High seniors and athletes Morgan O'Brien, Shannon Hanratty, Brigitte Strother with dance instructor Melissa Quigley, a 1994 Broadneck High graduate.
A workout on the dance floor makes an athlete perform better on the playing field. They know dancing is not a "feminine" thing but a healthy way to increase flexibility and agility and reduce injuries. That quarterback that dances his way to touchdown after touchdown, may be learning some nifty footwork in a "Dance for Athletes" course.
