The Arnold/Broadneck Women's Club members do not sit around, sip tea, gossip and prune rosebushes.

Courtney King, 17, and Robyn A. Hickey, 42, both residents of the Broadneck Peninsula, are the 2008 recipients of scholarships from the Arnold/Broadneck Women's Club.The small, 23-year-old club boasts 17 members who work tirelessly to raise money to provide college scholarships to Broadneck women who could use the assistance, and give gifts to needy children and their families at Christmas. Over the years, their primary fundraiser has been the annual Holiday Craft Show at Magothy River Middle School. Whatever is left over at the end of the year, they donate to local charities.
