The sky was a clear blue with a 43-degree temperature on Wednesday, but a stiff, chilly wind made it feel like a snowstorm was imminent. It was the perfect time to kick off the long Thanksgiving weekend with the 20th Annual 5K Turkey Trot and One-Mile Jaunt.

Runners take off during the 20th annual Turkey Trot 5K Race at Anne Arundel Community College’s Seigert Field. More than 200 people showed up for the Wednesday, which included a One-Mile Jaunt.It was also a good way to burn off a few ounces - before piling it all back on during Thursday's Thanksgiving festivities. The 5K run brought out 150 people of all ages, and about 50 more chose the one-mile run-walk. They gathered on the track oval at Siegert Field, on the Anne Arundel Community College's Arnold campus.
