Scouts celebrate Thinking DayPublished 03/09/09
It was a sea of Girl Scouts of all ages the Saturday before last in the big multi-purpose room of the Magothy and Severn River Middle Schools in Arnold.

Some of the 75 students who participated in this year’s Science Fair at Belvedere Elementary School. From left: County ribbon winner Matthew Rillon, 10, a fifth-grader; third-grader grader Julianna Mirenzi, 8; fifth-grader Tony Mirenzi, 10; county ribbon winner third-grader Jack Mirenzi, also 8; Suzi Kopp, 6, a first-grader; county ribbon winner Max Denn, 9, a fourth-grader; second-grader Nick Denn, 7; and Whitney Kopp, 9, a fourth-grader. Thinking Day was being celebrated by 145 girls from 21 area troops by participating in activities, games and projects with global themes, to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in nearly 150 other countries. Nine middle school girls in Cadette Troop 2259 planned the event as part of their Silver Award project.
