Mark George was born with Down syndrome. That didn't deter the cheerful youth from accompanying his father Tom George all over the Broadneck Peninsula. When Tom became a charter member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Arnold Chapter No. 2608, a little more than 31 years ago, Mark tagged along to all the meetings and parties.
Sadly, Mark died in 1981 at age 21.
