When Jim and Judy Guntow moved from Landover Hillls to Crofton four years ago, they knew it would be a nice place to live. Recent events reinforce what many long-term residents already know about their community - it really is a nice place to live. Photo no longer available

Years ago, Judy's mom gave the family a gnome and it had adorned their Landover Hills front yard. Judy's mom asked where the gnome would be placed when they moved and Judy assured her it would grace their front yard on Crofton Parkway, even though she wasn't sure how her new neighbors would feel about the sentimental statue.
