If you blink you just might miss the Anne Arundel Archers' stomping grounds tucked in the woods off of Route 3 South in Crofton.
By Paula Popp - For The CapitalAlthough the sport of archery takes strength and concentration, members say it is 90% mental and only 10% physical. Archers Jessie Williams, left, Nick Smith, center, and Larry Hix, right, aim at a spot target in front of them. Nick is a student at Arundel High and enjoys the sport’s camaraderie. From early May to mid-September, archers from across the region practice at the 53-acre outdoor range that has been around since the mid-'80s. The range consists of a clubhouse with picnic tables, 3-D target field course of various angles and yardages and 28 spot targets that vary in distance from 15 to 80 yards.
