Around Crofton: Scrapbooking raises funds for the Arundel Volunteer Fire DepartmentPublished 12/02/08
The Ladies Auxiliary to the Arundel Volunteer Fire Department sponsored an all-day scrapbooking event recently to benefit the department.

Michelle Ryon was born and raised in Gambrills before moving to Gettysburg, Pa., five years ago. She is a life member of the Arundel VFD who spent 12 years as an EMT and four years as the president. She has been scrapbooking for many years and still supports the department by attending its fundraising events.The event ran from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. I'm not kidding, 12 hours of scrapbooking! I understand that some of these events can run even longer. According to participants, this is a hobby that can be a bit costly, but very satisfying. Barbara Aldridge of the Walden neighborhood in Crofton has attended the annual event three times. She started scrapbooking seriously after her son, Nathan, was born.
