Cub Scout Day Camp instills values, skills

Scouts attending the annual Cub Scout Day Camp last week at the county fairgrounds learned that corn helps catch turtles as well as fish - one young fisherman caught three in one day - and how to fold a flag and not let it touch the ground.

"They're getting a jump start on the rank they're going to be in the fall," said Jenn Martin, who for the third summer in a row planned and organized the week-long camp.

"They're working on character," she said.
