Student raises $1,000 to help cyclone victimsPublished 07/25/08
What does it take to be an accomplished fundraiser these days? Probably a college degree. Maybe a certificate from a fundraising course and a few memberships in some fundraising organizations. Or maybe it takes a first-grader moved to act by a tragedy on the other side of the world. Sai Talwar, a rising second-grader at Indian Creek School, has one successful fundraiser under his belt, and he's committed to doing more. Back in May, he went to a fundraiser in Potomac for the victims of the Myanmar cyclone. Children ages 7 to 15 organized the event.
