Only a few dozen people a day ride the city buses that run from Annapolis to Kent Island and south county.
So the cancellation of the two routes at the end of this month might seem like a simple inconvenience for a few. But, in fact, it exacerbates a problem that's only going to get more acute.
As the county has grown, public transportation hasn't kept pace, and the current system is mainly geared toward 9-to-5 workers. More than 1,100 county residents a day take buses to the Washington area.
