In the past two years, local politicians' favorite way to start a sentence has been: "Well, with BRAC coming ..."
It's become our local version of: "Since 9/11 ..." We've heard that the thousands of jobs moving to Fort George G. Meade will impact or strain just about every service in the county: schools, roads, shopping, housing, police and fire protection, the court system.
But has the impact been overstated, risking a sort of BRAC fatigue, especially since jobs aren't expected to move in earnest until 2011? Do people care much about BRAC? Should they?
