Over the years, Troy Chittum, a longtime Annapolis bartender, has helped organize fundraisers for too many causes to count: people struck by heart attacks or cancer, Hurricane Katrina refugees, fire victims, sick children, the homeless.
But now he's the beneficiary.
Friends and co-workers are throwing a fundraiser for Mr. Chittum next week at Stan and Joe's Saloon on West Street to help him get by as he recovers from a serious bicycle accident.
He seems a bit embarrassed by the attention - and the role reversal.
"It's very nice that people step up, but I'm used to being on the other side,"...
