The Watchdog: Pipe backflow OK with countyPublished 05/11/09
Problem: Pipe problem continues Julie Carroll of Edgewater recently contacted The Watchdog about a problem with a storm pipe intended to drain water from her residential street into the bay. Every time the tide rises to a medium or high level, it seems water from the bay backs up through the pipe, flooding both the street and her property. In last week's Watchdog column, Matt Diehl, the county's Department of Public Works spokesman, said the Bureau of Highways would look into the matter. Don't you people know anything? Havn't you ever heard of the hundred year flood plane? You have to have a study done anytime you do anything to a house now-a-days. All this is is just the flood plane catching up to some unfortunate people who are under the current level and there is nothing the county can do about it, unless you want them to through money at it for years to come and never have it go away and then us the tax payers are screaming about why did you spend all that money for nothing. Watchdog find a real cause to bark up a tree about.
