It has come to our attention at City Hall that false information on the proposed annexation of county property is being circulated. City Hall officials request you base your conversations on fact. The first issue is the process for annexation. The process for annexation requires a petition from the property owner. Under state law the city must hear the petition. The petition has been certified by the City Clerk, and sent to the City Council for a preliminary hearing on an annexation resolution.
