It's a politically balanced district with a mix of urban, suburban and rural residents.
And in this fall's elections, District 30 could prove an interesting test case. If challengers can overcome the longtime incumbents in the district, who include the powerful speaker of the House of Delegates, it could be a bad year for Democrats in Maryland.
Three Democrats, who together have served 65 years in the legislature,...

My thoughts- - 2010-05-13 15:23:03
"Busch said people are less concerned about what party is in power than about what government has done, and he pointed to achievements on education and the environment, a historically low crime rate and improved access to health care."
Really ... like what kind of achievements? Government education as an institution is in shambles, I actually drive by a school on my way to work and can't help but notice the presence of police - on guard - that didn't exist in my youth. I look at the bay and think - huh? What is he even talking about?
"Herb McMillan of Annapolis, a Republican former delegate and city alderman who's trying to reclaim his House seat, said this could be the year voters reject decades of Democratic dominance that Republicans believe has led to high taxes and irresponsible spending."
Now this short quote would be laughable if it wasn't such a tragedy. What on this planet is he talking about? The GOP is as much responsible for the deficit's we see across the nation as the Democrats. These people actually partake in the same government growing schemes that the Democrats enjoy.
The quotes together in the same piece here, in my opinion, highlight a major problem we have in this country: the two parties are actually one in the same and if you look carefully, the policies across the nation and across the platforms overlap each other and the only seemingly differences are minor points of procedure.
