A column likes this takes about half a day, meeting the people and then going back to write it.
It is not sensational. Perhaps it sells no more newspapers. But it is exactly why Annapolis needs a local newspaper and columnist and reporters like Eric Hartley who are on the look out for these types of stories.
Not only is the column useful in raising money for this program. but it touches the humanity in each of us and makes us a bit better.
