Q: I have a 9-month-old cat that was perfectly fine until last week. He is outside most of the time, very active and happy. Then last week he stopped eating. He is very lethargic and has a bad smell coming from his mouth. I took him to the veterinarian for the first time to find out what was wrong. He was diagnosed with kidney failure and it was too late to help him. How could this happen to a young cat?
