The Rev. Chase Wood picks up an impressive stack of paper from his desk deep inside the Anne Arundel County Detention Center. Each sheet of paper in the stack a plea for help. The size of the pile is an indication of just how effective his little-known ministry is among the more than 600 inmates housed at the Jennifer Road facility in Annapolis. Pastor Wood, 48, is senior chaplain of the Good News Jail & Prison Ministry, a religious outreach organization that serves institutions in 22 states and 23 countries.
