More than 500 Boy Scouts descended upon Sands Road Park Saturday for their annual two-day camping ceremony and a much-anticipated ribbon-cutting.
Before it closed in 1994, the 182-acre park in Lothian was known as the Al-Ray Super Concrete rubble landfill, but Saturday it hosted Girl and Boy Scouts from all over the county.
This occasion was celebrated with a visit Saturday morning by several special guests.
