South River High School photographers win state contestPublished 04/28/08
South River High School photography student Chelsea Kelly, 17, recently earned the grand prize in a statewide photography contest, and Annemarie Turner took first place.

TOP: This photo, 'Apples No More,' by Chelsea Kelly, a South River High School student, took the grand prize in the state Department of the Environment annual environmental photo contest for high school students. BOTTOM: Annemarie Turner, a South River senior, took first place in the fields and forest division for her picture which shows her sister's gloved hands on a tree.
Their photos were the winners among 250 images submitted by high school students from throughout the state. Twenty of those entries were from South River.
The contest, known as the "Green Focus Awards," were given to high school students in four categories: black-and-white, fields and countryside, fields and forest, and water, plus an overall, grand-prize winner.
