Around South County: Londontowne Orchestra launches new season with concert at South River HighPublished 10/02/08
If you're looking for some reasonably priced, highly talented musical diversions for your family, volunteers in south county have been busy planning a full season.

Randall Huffman and Vanessa Callahan perform on stage at the South County Concert Association’s ‘‘American Jukebox.’’ The show took place Sept. 18 in Southern High School’s auditorium and is part of the association’s 2008-09 concert series.The Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, or LSO, kicked off its 2008-09 season Sept. 12 with a concert at South River High School. The performance, themed "Our Town," featured songs by composers Aaron Copland, John Philip Sousa and Franz Joseph Haydn. Also at the performance, a huge, wooden rendering of the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra logo was unveiled and presented by Nick Shearin of Crofton, who crafted and donated the piece.
