Around South County: Turner-Booze Family, Friends Day draws hundreds to Galesville churchPublished 12/18/08
On Sunday, the parishioners of Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church in Galesville gathered for what has become a 27-year tradition, the Turner and Booze Family and Friends Day.

Aquilla Fordham and Isabella Washington at the 27th annual Turner-Booze Family and Friends Day at the Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Galesville. The event drew over 200 members of the extended Turner and Booze families. Back in 1982, Isabella Turner Washington decided that the second week in December would be a great time to host a family reunion of sorts. Isabella is the youngest of 13 children born to Rose Booze Wilson and Jerome Turner of Galesville, so the Turner and Booze celebration was created. Isabella is a member of the Galesville church, a parish serving about 100. She is a member of the Stewards Board and is a past president of the young adult...
