Around South County: Mayo Kiwanis' Breakfast with Santa

The Mayo Kiwanis Club offered a Breakfast with Santa event on Saturday at their post on Carr's Wharf Road. Santa Claus, Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer were on site.

Children ate breakfast and then spent a few minutes telling Santa their hopes for gifts. In return they each got a $5 gift card for Chick-fil-A, a candy cane, and a photo of the moment.

Gertrude Cummings has been a member of the Kiwanis Club since 1997 when it began admitting women as members. She said was happy to work the door on Saturday. These events help to introduce locals to the good works of the Kiwanis Club, she said.
