Last week the South County Lions Club honored two outstanding public servants: A county police officer from the Southern District Station in Edgewater, and a firefighter/EMS (Emergency Medical Service) from the Harwood Fire Station.

Cpl. Damien Dzambo was named the 2009 Police Officer of the Year and Lt. Russell Davies Jr. was named 2009 Firefighter of the Year. Lions Club President Joe Gomoljak said the reason for the awards was to honor people in the area who are involved with the community.
