At many schools, achieving that goal isn't just the work of dedicated faculty and staff, but also the work of parents, grandparents, friends of the school and local businesses.
One such program, SeaPerch underwater robotics, is helping to do just that - mentoring students to become interested in the field of naval engineering. In south county, two schools participate: Central Elementary School in Edgewater and Davidsonville Elementary.
