Five months ago, Severna Park senior Mike O'Boyle and Broadneck senior Billy Wear formed the ska band, now composed of nine local youths.
For those not up on their world pop music, ska is the Jamaican predecessor to reggae. It's a jazzy, horn-heavy, syncopated style.
"Reggae music, but twice as fast," is how alto sax player Brendan Maltese described their music.
