Shades of purple were evident around Severna Park last Friday as the anticipation mounted for the faceoff between the Baltimore Ravens and the Indianapolis Colts. Although the Ravens didn't find victory, it is worth noting that the community spirit was in full swing. A stop at grocery stores, gas stations and schools found Park residents displaying their allegiance to the team in full color.
The schools throughout the county embraced the idea of "Purple Friday" with staff, teachers and students dressing in team jerseys, wearing beads or just showing their spirit with everyday clothes in purple or black.
