Back in the old days, Hamlen's and Millhausens were the two neighborhood bars where locals gathered. Faithful customers sorely missed the "where-everyone-knows-your-name" atmosphere portrayed on the "Cheers" TV show when both places closed their doors in the 1970's and '80's.
Twenty years later, there are new bars and restaurants that have filled that void in Severna Park. One is Adam's The Place For Ribs, sandwiched between Severna Flowers and Gifts and Dawson's Liquors on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard.
