I received an e-mail from a Green Hornets dad, who, while he couldn't say enough great things about all the volunteers, coaches, team moms and others who make the Green Hornets such a great program, was going "crazy trying to make the holiday feel like a holiday while blasting off into school and sports before the weekend is even over.
"How did we lose the idea that everything starts after Labor Day?" he said. "As a kid it always seemed strange to me that a great three-day weekend was called Labor Day ... now I'm feeling the labor pains."
