Around the Park: Shipley's annual 12-hour swim-a-thon breaks recordsPublished 09/04/08
At least 120 swimmers swam 14,511 laps in 12 hours last Saturday during the Shipley's Choice community's annual benefit swim-a-thon.

Shipley's resident Lynn Harmeyer, one of the organizers, equates the mileage to "swimming from Millersville to New York." Something each swimmer would proudly do again, because they were swimming in honor of one of their favorite neighbors - Matthew (Matt) Freeman.
