At 9 a.m. Saturday "The Rising Stars" youth bowling program will kick off at the Severna Park Lanes, 840 Ritchie Highway.

Taylor McDowell bowled a spare, and reveals a smile of satisfaction.The center is one of three to offer the popular 16-week program. Annapolis Bowl, and Greenway Bowl, which is in Odenton, have similar programs. All three centers are also involved in an In-School Bowling Program in county public schools. Each of the businesses provide bowling equipment to physical education teachers at nearby elementary schools. In turn, the teachers integrate bowling into their curriculum.
