Colorful wooden trees decorate Park PlazaPublished 11/06/08
Park Plaza shoppers were pleasantly surprised when six hand-painted wooden trees were placed in the parking lot. The colorful artwork was crafted for the shopping center's "Going Green" event on Oct. 11.
Leslie Hunt - The CapitalArt pieces in the form of painted trees have been sprouting up in the parking lot at Park Plaza on Route 2 in Severna Park. The hand-painted decorative trees are the work of Providence Center employees, produced at the center’s Earthtones Woods Shop and funded by Park Plaza. Proceeds from the sale of the trees by silent auction go directly to Providence Center. Barbara Daniels, owner of Side Street Framers at the Plaza, conceived the "wooden tree project" as a way to include Providence Center in the environmental event. Ms. Daniels has been an enthusiastic supporter of Providence Center which provides vocational and social opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities.
