Around the Park: Chesapeake Treasures: A true gem

Chesapeake Treasures in Park Plaza was a happening place last Friday as the thrift shop opened its doors for a community open house.

The thrift store is enjoying a brisk business this holiday season with a bursting inventory offering many high quality items at yard sale prices. All of the shop’s proceeds benefit Hospice of the Chesapeake.

Now located in the former Hard Bean coffee shop, next to Jo-Ann Fabrics, the store has quickly filled up its expanded quarters with an eclectic inventory and has an inviting atmosphere, both in staff and decor.

The hardwood floors bring a warmth to the shop and the walls are filled with artwork, all donated, giving it an ambiance shoppers would find in an upscale boutique.
